ACEAS reaches milestone of 300+ published research papers

ACEAS has reached an exciting milestone – more than 300 research papers are now listed in the publications database Scopus. Each publication represents months, sometimes years, of rigorous scientific work, advancing knowledge of Antarctica’s ice sheets, oceans, ecosystems, and global climate connections.

“This milestone reflects the dedication and expertise of our researchers and the collaborative spirit of Antarctic science,” said ACEAS Director, Professor Matt King (UTAS).

“It’s wonderful to see ACEAS research outputs contributing to the global understanding of Antarctica and its role in the Earth system.”

Recent publications cover diverse topics, including the contribution of subglacial water to sea-level rise, air-sea gas exchanges, the role of eddies in shaping the spatial structure of ocean warming, and a review of Antarctic marine viruses, among others. While these highlights showcase the breadth of ACEAS research, the full list of more than 300 papers can be explored on the Publications section of our website.

There is still a wealth of research underway, with science continuing to emerge from ACEAS researchers, particularly from the Denman Marine Voyage and Denman Terrestrial Campaign. We are working to see these studies translated into more high-quality publications in the coming months and years.
